Chapter 28: Locker Conversations

"Did you actually manage to get any sleep at all last night?" James asked quietly as she approached, smoothly stepping away from his teammates to meet her halfway between the rows of heavy lockers. Lily shook her head slowly, a bright smile tugging at the corners of her mouth as she adjusted the heavy canvas strap of her backpack. "Not a single wink," she admitted honestly, watching his eyes light up with that familiar, crooked grin. "Too busy rewriting our entire life plan in my head."
